I am a foreign student, can I work as job student in Belgium?
Yes, you can work in Belgium as a job student. You have to take into account a number of rules. Your country of origin determines which rules apply.
In that case, you have the same rights and obligations as Belgian students, even if you do not study or stay in Belgium.
Your type of residence permit determines how many hours you can work as a job student in Belgium:
- Do you have a residence permit marked ’labour market unlimited’? Then you can work as a student under the same conditions as Belgian students.
- Do you have a residence permit marked 'labour market limited'? Then you can work up to 20 hours a week during the school year and unlimited during the school holidays.
